Ma’Daerah’s commitment towards Biodiversity

This year Raptor Watch will be held on March 10th and 11th 2007 at Ilham Resort Tanjung Tuan Malacca (Near Port Dickson). With lots of fun activities lined up, Raptor Watch will be an event not to be missed.

Expected to arrive: Thousands of birds of prey, flying right above you!

So pack your picnic bags and head down to Port Dickson and help support a nature conservation effort by BP and Malaysian Nature Society.

BP is contributing RM5000 to the event which promotes the conservation of migratory birds of prey and Tanjung Tuan, one of the very few areas in Malaysia which is not only gazetted as a Forest reserve, it is also a Wildlife reserve and its waters have been designated a protected marine area . BP will have a booth to publicise the community investment programmes at Ma’Daerah Turtle Sanctuary & to raise funds for the Ma’Daerah Sanctuary Trust Fund.

This annual celebration of raptor migration promises an activity-filled weekend for young and old. Plan a weekend to Tg Tuan to enjoy the sight of hundreds of raptors circling overhead as they take a break on their incredible journey back to Siberia and other northern regions and savour the festivities available on the ground. There will be games, crafts, merchandise and handicraft stalls, performances, talks, guided walks and lots more. Join us to enjoy the natural and cultural heritage that this important and historic area has to offer and sample a real slice of Malaysiana.
