Strong Waves Severely damage turtle hatchery at the Ma'daerah Turtle Sanctuary
We were informed by the Department of Fisheries in regards to the above matter. Prompt action by volunteers from BPPA at such short notice to salvage the nests was greatly appreciated by the Fisheries department. Lets now hope that the nests that were saved will hatch successfully.

Weekend with the Turtles Programme 2005
Ever feel like you need a break from city life?
Well, join the Ma’ Daerah Weekend with the Turtles Programme and learn all about sea turtle conservation and research first hand.
This programme is a part of the ongoing Education and Awareness Activities conducted at Ma’ Daerah. The on-hand experience at Ma’ Daerah would serve as the best tool to send the message across on the vulnerability of sea turtles in the face of human intervention. Participants will help the Department of Fisheries staff in monitoring of nesting female turtles, hatchery management and research.
